Opening Reception: Words That Start

Join us for the opening reception for Words That Start, a group exhibition that spans our two spaces: ArtYard's Courtyard Gallery and The Beauty Gallery at Studio Route 29.

Beauty Gallery will be open from 5-7pm, and ArtYard will be open from 6-8pm.

Words That Start offers a loose and idiosyncratic survey of 15 contemporary artists working with text in painting, drawing and sculpture. The spectra- from literal to abstract, demanding to dissolving, traditionally functional to highly formal- unravel into spirals like cursive loops that begin to bump into each other and ultimately raise questions of how meaning is made in the first place, and how it could be unmade.
